Acclaimed to be the largest museum in South East Asia, the Terengganu State Museum complex safeguard century-old artifacts and artworks representing the state’s rich cultural and heritage. Significantly located at Bukit Losong, the complex itself is an architectural representation of the ancient palaces of the state.
It houses the original Batu Bersurat (Inscripted Stone) of Terengganu, with religious decree inscription, which proves the acceptance of Islamic teachings in the state well before the rest of the peninsula. The maritime complex, the restored original old palaces and traditional boats are also prominently displayed in the compound.
